The Northside Café has been around since 1876. Housed in two historic buildings on the northside of the picturesque town square of Winterset, Iowa. One of the oldest family owned restaurants west of the Mississippi, we serve Iowa comfort food stepped up a few good notches.
Tourists and locals come from miles and countries around to sit on Clint Eastwood’s famous stool immortalized in the cult favorite movie “The Bridges of Madison County”. While here they satiate their hunger and thirst after touring the John Wayne Birthplace Museum, six covered bridges, Iowa Quilt Museum, Monuments Men George L. Stout Memorial, George Washington Carver Park and many more sites that make Madison County an incredible slice of Americana.
